Perspective Parodox

Ah, Yes, The good old glass half whatever metaphor
I have always been a realist. When I was younger I believed that everyone should feel the same as me, but because that was statistically impossible I determined that people's opinions of me don't matter.
Now that I've been out in the world a little I realize whether I like it or not People's opinions of me are always going to matter, because too many people in the world give opinions, whether they are positive or negative ones, too much power over their decisions. Realistically; I realized; I could not behave however I pleased where ever I pleased.
Self expression is not valued in this country the way self confinement is. (by self confinement I mean to keep yourself to yourself) Artists rarely make enough money to live on, so I am a self expressive broke person working in a place where they prefer I were self confining. Realistically I'm going to fail.
The problem with being a realist is that it's only a useful perspective to have if you are doing things that are science and math based.

~Realistic people seem to come off as cold to others, pessimists annoy most, and optimists annoy me.~
